Coming from the UK I have more than 25 years of driving experience in a range of varying weather conditions including freezing fog, black ice, snow, flooding, and strong wind conditions. I have also had experience of a lot of different road surfaces and driving in many different European countries, with varying road standards.
I have also gained a great deal of knowledge from the previous driving school I worked with, as they ran a proactive driving course, with lectures from an ex-police crash investigator and us as instructors delivering the practical course to the students under his guidance. I have since also received training at my current driving school from an ex-police driver trainer.
In my lessons, I try to use my knowledge and experience to explain to the students, why they should drive safely, read the road layout, and that signage is there for a reason. How to position the vehicle on the road, adjust there speed to suit the conditions, hazards, and awareness of others. I also actively encourage commentary driving and have found this really focuses students.
I have had a lot of students who have come to me from other driving schools, and a lot have told me they have learned more in one lesson with me than they have in 5+ lessons with there previous instructor. I've earned a reputation with my current driving school of having the ability to help students with disabilities and learning difficulties pass their tests. I have a good rate of referrals from passed students and parents, and a good pass rate for first time passes.
I teach students to drive for life, not just to pass their tests.
